Zugspitze

Zugspitze

Towering over Bavaria, Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany. On a recent trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, I took a scenic jaunt up the mountain on a cogwheel train. Then, it was a short gondola ride to the summit. Although blustery, there was a café to savor the panoramic views and a hot drink. On the idyllic ride back down {entirely by gondola}, the cable car passed over the Eibsee Lake and the serene countryside. Back in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, I enjoyed the frescoed buildings and hearty Bavarian food.
