Nuremberg Christmas Market

Hand-painted lebkuchen, Nuremberg Christmas Market

From November to December, Christmas markets fill German towns with lovely foods, treats, and entertainment. My favorite Christmas market is the Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt. The cobblestone square in front of the cathedral is overflowing with hand-painted lebkuchen {spiced gingerbread}, happy travelers drinking glühwein {mulled red wine}, and a brass band playing traditional German music. This week, I’ll share more of my Christmas market travels.
