I’ll end the week of Christmas markets with the Heidelberg Christmas Market. There are a few markets spread out throughout the city, but none can beat the Kornmarkt with the Heidelberg Castle ruins atop the hill in the background. The air was filled with a sweet aroma from zimtsterne {cinnamon star cookies} and heissen maronen {roasted chestnuts}. I picked up a beautiful hand-carved wood rocking horse ornament for the tree.
